Malcolm Bowes: Architect / Director

Qualifications: B.Arch., ANZIA, Registered Architect N.Z. and U.K.

Technical Skills: Design/Documentation 17yrs.
Project Coordination/Practice Management 12 yrs.

Malcolm has particular responsiblity within ARCHITECTUS for negotiating conditions of engagement, project coodination and programming and for practice management and administration.

He is extensively involved in the New Zealand Institute of Architects and this year will become an examiner for the Architects Education and Registration Board.

Malcolm has extensive experience in providing services to institutional and local authority clients with particular knowledge of Resource Management issues. Recent involvement has been with Auckland City, Housing New Zealand, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the University of Canterbury.

Patrick Clifford: Architect / Director

Qualifications: B.Arch (Hons) ANZIA, Registered Architect

Technical Skills: Design/Documentation 17yrs.
Design Leadership/Co-ordination 12yrs.

Patrick is the principal of ARCHITECTUS responsible for project design direction and development, brief development, in office project planning and coordination and practice development strategies.

His design skills have been recognised in numerous national and regional architectural awards and competition successes and in his selection for a number of juries and award panels. His projects and drawings have been published and exhibited internationally.

In 1993 he participated in a design collaboration with Michael Sorkin, in New York, on large scale urban propositions.
Patrick is also a visiting lecturer in design and is regularly invited to crits at the Schools of Architecture at Unitec and Auckland University.

Michael Thomson: Architect / Director

Qualifications: B.Arch., ANZIA, Registered Architect.

Technical Skills: Design/Documentation 17 yrs Design Leadership/Co-ordination 12 yrs

Michael has detailed knowledge of document production and co-ordination, and the development of sound technical resolutions to complex constructional challenges.

Within ARCHITECTUS he is responsilble for the development of our computer system which features the latest in 2D and 3D technology to allow production precise documentation and the best possible imaging of our projects.

He recently completed the contract administration of the Mathematics Statistics and Computer Sciences Building for the University of Canterbury, and the documentation programme for the proposed Sciences Library adjacent.
